And so it begins.

I wanted to devote a new blog strictly to our new homeschooling adventure. But since we don't live in a typical house I guess the term is roadschooling. (Check it out on Wikipedia)

This is my first posting and I don't quite know how I want to lay this out, but hang in there and I'll try to make it as user friendly as possible. I would like this blog to be a resource for someone else who finds them self in my shoes somewhere down the line.

My daughter recently turned four so it's about time to get to work on this.

I have started looking at the information available online and it's overwhelming.
Every time I begin to do some reading I get lost in all the links to all the other sites full of great information with more links...that i finally just give up and go to bed.
I really want to spend more time reading about "roadschooling." There are a lot of people out there doing it. http://www.familiesontheroad.com/ has a section devoted to it.

For now I have just been talking to moms and dads I meet at church and at the playground. I have been surprised at how many other people I have met that home school, have friends that home school, or just wish they were homeschooling. So I ask questions and try to remember the names of the programs they are using so I can look them up later. Most of the time I forget before I get home. I really need to carry around a pen and paper.

I read my first book about Homeschooling. Educating the Whole Hearted Child.

It was very interesting. I recommend it.
It gets you thinking outside of the school house and into how exciting learning / teaching can be. It introduced me to many different methods that I now need to research further.

We are attending our first home school book fair next weekend.
I am very excited physically what is out there and soak up some more information.

I will let you know how it turns out.
